The Silver Comet Trail, Kennesaw Mountain, and every gym along Cobb Parkway send us sore people. Here is how they use the studio.

Why heat and lymph work together for recovery

Warmth increases circulation to tired muscle; lymphatic movement helps clear the by-products of hard effort. The sauna does the first part, DermaShape the second. Athletes often describe less next-day heaviness after a session.

Timing in a training week

  • Rest day or easy day: the best slot. A 45-minute sauna in the afternoon, then an early night.
  • Not right before a hard session: you will be relaxed and slightly dehydrated, which is the wrong state for intervals.
  • After a race or long run: the day after, not the same day. Let the initial inflammation do its job first.

Hydration

Plan on a full bottle before and another after. If you train early and book the sauna later the same day, add electrolytes.

A sample week

Monday: lift. Tuesday: easy run, ozone sauna in Marietta. Wednesday: intervals. Thursday: lift. Friday: DermaShape at Stone Mountain. Saturday: long run. Sunday: off.

Packs for regular training

A ten-session ozone pack ($700) lasts a training block. Many athletes pair it with a four-pack of DermaShape ($810, 10% off).

Ozone sauna and lymphatic therapy are wellness services. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and results vary from person to person. Talk with your healthcare provider before starting any wellness program, especially if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, or are under treatment for a serious illness.

Questions

Should I sauna before or after a workout?

After, ideally on an easy or rest day, and well hydrated. Not right before intense training.

Can sauna replace a cool-down?

No. Cool down as usual, rehydrate, then use the sauna later in the day or the next day.
